Ghost games are the developers this year though most seem to be from Criterion Games and are comprised of people that have done a few racing games in their time. Previous entries have been said to be throwbacks to earlier games, this is taking that to an extreme though probably not in a bad way.

Need for Speed Rivals is a racing video game developed in a collaboration between Ghost Games and Criterion Games, and published by Electronic Arts. The game was released for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One in November 2013. It was followed by Need for Speed: No Limits and the reboot to this franchise in 2015.
