I bought '11 when the EA servers stop supporting online play for '08 and the changes from then are pretty drastic. The graphics seemed to have improved and the courses a little harder, but that could just be me used to playing with my previous maxed out character. There is no money involved in '11 its all based on XP that you earn while playing.
