But then update to . is a bit insulting to customers. update should have been at least a decent balance/polish patch
The DLC they have mentioned so far is just stuff that was planned for the main release that they didn't complete on time. They aren't giving anyone ANYTHING to celebrate. Think about it: DLC 2-3 months right after a game came out that obviously has a lot of stuff still missing and barely had any changes for version . ? Kind of obvious. But then update to . update should have been at least a decent balance/polish patch. Why is update . insulting to the customers?

Dead Cells' latest update, officially known as the Corrupted Update, is, according to Motion Twin, predominantly about balance. To that end, it makes significant changes to biome difficulty so that one path isn't objectively better than another, and fiddles around with cursed chests and colourless weapons in an attempt to make the latter more relevant. But while balance might be the focus, there's still room in the Corrupted Update for more stuff.
We would love to keep supporting ‘Dead Cells’ on the long run, but we haven’t really figured out exactly how yet, it said. What do you guys think about paid DLC? Would you prefer regular light updates or more packaged, themed ones? More playable content in the vein of what’s already existing or exploring new ways to play the game through different modes? Everything is on the table.
Free content, balancing, and systemic updates are planned at the same steady rhythm and of the same quality as seen in 2019.
Triumphing over the numerous perils, built by the Dead Cells developers with as much love as sadism, will be rewarded with a conceptually unique armory, including the first double slot weapon as well as a very dedicated and loyal mushroom companion. Of course, vengeance visited upon the monsters and challenging new biomes that once slowed you down is its own reward, but a few new weapons never hurt anybody. Dead Cells fans impatiently awaiting the arrival of the game's massive free Rise of the Giant DLC on Switch, following its PC release in March, may now unclench: developer Motion Twin has confirmed via a post to the console's News channel, that it's coming next week, on 23rd Ma. Fire up the game after the free update and you'll be treated to two new areas and bosses, ten new enemies, three new skills (including a flying pet), ten new weapons (such as the Giant Killer and Boï Axe), and a new Skinning system.
Dead Cells is getting some free DLC this month, beckoning masochists back to its death-filled rooms. Inside, you'll find new enemies, another boss and probably more deaths than you could possibly keep track of in your head.
