You play john marston again and the story begings near the end of the main game (it can be a bit of a spioler as to what happens at the end of RDR) and your family are attacked by uncle sam and turn into zombies and it's up to you to find out what the hell's going on. This has a lot more humour compared to RDR and the things John Marston says to his zombified family as he leaves them is hilarious.

Undead Nightmare introduce una inedita campagna in single player che ci vedrà vestire i panni del vecchio mastica-tabacco John Marston, ma con obiettivi e sfide totalmente inedite e quantomeno bizzarre. Nuovi nemici, non-morti, animali zombie e creature mai viste sono il leit-motiv di questo nuovissimo DLC che farà la felicità di tutti gli amanti del brivido, e del Far West, ovviamente. Sebbene l'idea di utilizzare l'universo zombie non sia di certo nuova nel mondo dei videogame, mai nessun titolo l'aveva sfruttata in un mondo "aperto" come quello del sandbox appartenente a Red Dead Redemption. Non solo città, centri commerciali e cimiteri dunque, ma un enorme spazio aperto da esplorare ricco di dettagli, ambientazioni e colpi di scena totalmente nuovi. Le creature incontrate sono di vario tipo e tipologia: si va dal "normale" non-morto a quelli più piccoli e veloci, passando per i più robusti e violenti, anche se lenti, fino ai "retcher" che hanno la possibilità di colpire dalla distanza a colpi di tossica bile verde (qualcuno ha detto Left for Dead?).A caccia di non-morti nel Far West! Le città sono letteralmente prese d'assalto e i sopravvissuti resistono all'interno delle recinzioni protettive, con sempre maggiori difficoltà. Tra le tante delle nuove missioni da compiere, quella di aiutare i paesi in difficoltà e liberarli dall'attacco zombie. Anche i cimiteri, posti fuori dalle cittadine, sono infestati da orde putride e marcie, fungendo da "punto di raccolta" e di "nascita" per le nuove creature. E' nostro compito, durante l'avventura principale, scovarle e annientarle per far sì che il numero della popolazione dei non-morti sia costantemente tarato al ribasso. Per affrontare l'esercito del male le armi convenzionali potevano non essere sufficienti allo scopo, motivo per il quale lo sviluppatore Rockstar ha introdotto nuovi ed esaltanti metodi di abbattimento: l'acqua santa, che li fa letteralmente vaporizzare, mine esplosive per debellare intere orde fameliche, fucili a stantuffo che hanno triplice potenza di fuoco, proiettili più devastanti. L'arsenale, così rinnovato, risulta molto più efficace alla causa. Fondamentalmente, l'avventura principale di Undead Nightmare è costituita dall'abbattimento scellerato di creature e non-morti, ma non solo. Oltre a salvare interi villaggi, come un bravo bounty-hunter dobbiamo anche cercare e ritrovare persone scomparse nelle "clean zone", le zone virtualmente pulite da zombie, ma ancora devastate dalla resistenza. A caccia di non-morti nel Far West! Il gameplay però, potrebbe annoiare molti dopo breve in quanto si tratta fondamentalmente di andare-ammazzare-trovare-tornare. Tutto dipende solo dalla vostra passione nell'uccidere zombie. A rallegrare le nostre scampagnate nei territori infestati, per nostra fortuna, ci si mettono di mezzo bizzarre e potentissime creature mitologiche: i quattro Cavalli dell'Apocalisse, ognuno dei quali con specifiche caratteristiche distruttive. Il Cavallo della Guerra, dal mantello fiammeggiante, può far fuori orde di zombie al solo passaggio; il Cavallo della Morte può far esplodere le teste dei non-morti all'istante; quelli della Carestia e della Pestilenza invece, hanno stamina infinita e non possono essere abbattuti dalle creature malvagie. Ad affrontare i nostri beati Cavalli dell'Apocalisse, per complicare un po' le cose, non ci saranno però solo persone in avanzato stato di decomposizione e simili, ma anche animali ai quali il virus ha mutato drasticamente le caratteristiche psico-fisiche. Ecco quindi apparire il grizzly-zombie, i coguari infettati, e perchè no, i cavalli zombie (anche il vostro, se morirà!), che rappresentano un vero e proprio problema quando incontrati nelle lande desolate del West.
Per i possessori del 3.41 sostituire i file presenti nella cartella Fix 3.41, con i file presenti nella cartella gioco.
Per i possessori del 3.55 non modificare nulla.
Passare la cartella del gioco all'interno della ps3 o su un HDD esterno e giocare.
