Sanguine Sanctum is comparable to obscure PS1 games like LSD: Dream Emulator and Hellnight. I think it really nailed the ambient atmosphere of those games, but you definitely need a little bit of nostalgia to fully appreciate it. You could probably classify it as a walking simulator where you have to solve weird puzzles. I personally really like Sanguine Sanctum because I can see all the small design references. Even the sound design was 100% on point. However, this is not a game I would recommend to a younger audience because it's intentionally cryptic and clunky.
Sanguine Sanctum is an atmospheric horror-exploration game with a low-poly, PS1 aesthetic. It is a short experience meant to be completed in one sitting, taking about 45 minutes to complete. Return with an Offering and witness It flourish.
