Risen 2 is the second installment of the famous role-playing game in development at Piranha Bytes, creators of the first unforgettable trilogy of Gothic.
Several years have passed since the gods have abandoned the world and the titans are released from their prisons, destroying everything that stood in their way with an unstoppable force.
However, there is a place in the southern tip of the old empire that seems to have been spared: the Fortress of crystal Caldera. It hosts the headquarters of the Inquisition and is a refuge for the survivors. The repeated attacks to which it is subject, together with the sinking of ships carrying supplies by sea monsters, but do not leave much hope for the future, especially now that food and weapons are scarce.
The nameless hero, devastated after the events of Faranga, now drowning their sorrows in rum in the port city of Caldera. In view of the worsening situation, due to the lack of food, decides to leave for a new adventure, to eliminate once and for all the threat of sea monsters.
During his trip will have to face new challenges and meet old friends who will help him in his mission.
The idea that inspired the series is the expulsion of the gods, with the fearsome Titans, mythical creatures elementals, who suddenly find themselves free to roam the earth. In the first chapter, our hero, armed with a knife and contemptuous of danger, is right to face a titan that is hidden from view in the volcano island of Faranga. But the ending is just the beginning of a much larger story. The old world is not in fact almost nothing left except the city of Caldera, which is already largely engulfed in flames. The sea is fraught with dangers and the kraken continues to sink all vessels imprudent. To the new world's only hope is to migrate to the new world that is in all respects a fantasy vision of South America of the thirteenth century with a lot of Caribbean archipelago. The enchanting islands, however, are the hunting ground of pirates and they have never gotten along with the law and with the uniforms. Fortunately, there is a split between the buccaneers in progress and this allows us to support again the beautiful Patty, daughter of Barba D'Argento, and set sail for new adventures as a support using both the soldiers and the Inquisition. Unfortunately, being in the middle of the two factions has its cons and of course many other dangers lurk around the corner with omnipotent creatures, huge giants of rock and a curse to say the least unpleasant.
