It is a follow-up to Conception: Ore no Kodomo o Undekure! in terms of gameplay, but their stories are unrelated. Conception II was released in Japan on August 22, 2013, in North America on April 15, 2014, in the PAL region in May 2014 and worldwide on August 16, 2016 for Microsoft Windows.
It is the sequel of Conception: Please Give Birth to My Child!! and while the game's story does not continue from the prequel, it still revolves around dungeon-crawling and dating simulations. Wake Archus has moved into the world of Aterra, an island to follow his fate to fending off monsters for the sake of saving the world

Conception II has a new game+, so nothing is truly missable. However, it is tricky to see all the heroines' events in one new game+ playthrough, and requires keeping their affection low and saving in multiple slots. This walkthrough is spoiler-free, and the game has no irreversible story choices. I encourage you to enjoy the story. Day Camp: Appears at chapter 5. You can leave star children here and they'll gain a portion of the experience you get at a labyrinth. I figure I can only use nine star children at once, so it's better to take them with me and gain all the experience instead.

Conception II is a decent game if you're looking into a casual dungeon crawler with dating sim aspects, however the grind can be a major turn off. I would recommend only getting it on sale, as the value you get from it pays for itself.
