I am Alive è un videogioco action-adventure strutturato come un "survival", ovvero ci troveremo in esso a controllare il protagonista gestendone diversi aspetti vitali all'interno di un'ambientazione irta di minacce. La città in cui è ambientato il titolo, Haventon, è stata completamente distrutta da un misterioso cataclisma chiamato "l'Evento" e si trova in rovina a causa di tale forza devastante e in questo scenario apocalittico il giocatore dovrà pensare per sopravvivere, reagire e prendersi dei rischi che influiranno sul suo futuro e su quello delle persone attorno a lui.
Dopo una genesi lunga e complessa, in cui il progetto è passato dalle mani di Darkworks a quelle di Ubisoft Shanghai, il gioco è diventato un titolo indirizzato esclusivamente al digital delivery, ma in ogni caso promette contenuti in grande quantità ad un livello di produzione sicuramente al top per quanto riguarda l'ambito digitale.

In I Am Alive ci troviamo ad esplorare e combattere, gestire le risorse, evitare pericoli, confrontarci con l'ambientazione minacciosa alla ricerca di percorsi che ci portino verso la meta, la nostra famiglia. Scelte morali ci si pareranno davanti, chiedendoci di scegliere se aiutare o meno chi ha bisogno ed eventualmente decidere chi aiutare e chi no, mettendo in scena anche il dramma psicologico derivato da una situazione post-apocalittica. Inoltre c'è da fare particolarmente attenzioni agli altri superstiti, alcuni saranno disperati in cerca di cibo o medikit per qualche parente ferito, altri invece saranno dei veri e propri gruppi di gang sciacalli, pronti a uccidere chiunque si trovi davanti
Il gioco prometteva davvero bene, sembrava potesse essere un titolo davvero impressionante, poi qualcosa si è rotto, la gestione del gioco è passata ad un altra casa produttrice, e li ha perso moltissimo, soprattutto in grafica, dove il titolo per motivi sconosciuti, non è potuto essere superiore a 2 gb, davvero un gran peccato!

P.S. lo scrivo anche quì, all'avvio del gioco, tenterà di aggiornare, premete esci e il gioco partirà
