As you explore the furthest reaches of space and encounter various factions, all vying for power, the character you decide to become will determine how this player-driven story unfolds. In the corporate equation for the colony, you are the unplanned variable.
Game Features

The player-driven story RPG: In keeping with the Obsidian tradition, how you approach The Outer Worlds is up to you. Your choices affect not only the way the story develops; but your character build, companion stories, and end game scenarios.
You can be flawed, in a good way: New to The Outer Worlds is the idea of flaws. A compelling hero is made by the flaws they carry with them. While playing The Outer Worlds, the game tracks your experience to find what you aren't particularly good at. Keep getting attacked by Raptidons Taking the Raptiphobia flaw gives you a debuff when confronting the vicious creatures, but rewards you with an additional character perk immediately. This optional approach to the game helps you build the character you want while exploring Halcyon.
Lead your companions: During your journey through the furthest colony, you will meet a host of characters who will want to join your crew. Armed with unique abilities, these companions all have their own missions, motivations, and ideals. It's up to you to help them achieve their goals, or turn them to your own ends.
Explore the corporate colony: Halcyon is a colony at the edge of the galaxy owned and operated by a corporate board. They control everything... except for the alien monsters left behind when the terraforming of the colony’s two planets didn’t exactly go according to plan. Find your ship, build your crew, and explore the settlements, space stations, and other intriguing locations throughout Halcyon.

Hey fitgirl. If you ever have time, could you write a small guide on your site on how to run your programs in a sandboxed environment? I am trying to unpack the game into a sandboxie folder, but after unpacking it all the way, it comes up with another isdone.dll error. Only this one says "unknown compression method." I assume that won't be fixed with the same ways the other .dll issue is fixed in your FAQ?

This version does still has "Brave New World" bug. rnrnIn the mission there is a important room you walk into. if you attempt to walk into the room with anyone other then your self it will cause an instant crash. rnrnI am posting this as both a warning to others as well as letting those playing know if there are any problems

Nvidia game ready driver 440.97 and the one after that 441.08 both caused random crashes. There's yet ANOTHER one 441.12 that I'm not even going to bother with. Rolled back to my stable 425.31 and haven't had a single crash. Win7 x64 ultimate 1060 6GB Is it a Win 7 issue? The supposed game ready driver? who knows? I don't think there's any point of updating your driver past somewhere in the 430.xx if you're on a Pascal card or older.

i grabbed this when it was first posted..but just installed it now...so far after making my character and playing for 5 minutes..everything works. install was easy as usual took 14 minutes on my machine to install...which i am fine with. i have a 4 year old pc and detected graphic settings went to medium. amd fx 8350 16gbddr3 nvidia gtx 950

I can't for the life of me figure out how to get the controller to work :( anyone else having this problem and have possible solutions? i have tried multiple controllers, running with and without administrator privilege. the game seems to recognize the exact controller I have connected, as there is a picture of it, but it does nothing.
