Arcen has released Shattered Haven on GOG, and if they are releasing it on Desura I think it needs to be DRM free for that .

I figure that's a pretty solid reason to skip the demo, and it makes me glad I bought the game because I like supporting DRM free gaming. This is an experiment for them, hopefully they have some time to put together a demo for the game once things settle down with them.
