It's quite a big update to the game, being dubbed a "massive expansion" by the devs. Some of the new stuff includes a new two player co-op mode, different unlockable ships to choose from, new bosses, enemy waves, weapons & upgrades, as well as a redesigned UI. It doesn't look like any achievements have been added, but one nice feature relating to the old achievements is a popup that shows your progress for collecting all the different weapon types whenever a new weapon capsule is picked up.
