The systems integrated into Land Warrior are the weapon system, helmet, computer, digital and voice communications, positional and navigation system, protective clothing and individual equipment. An engineering and manufacturing development contract was awarded to Raytheon Systems, then Hughes Aircraft Company.

The British Parliament, in retaliation for the events surrounding the Boston Tea Party, had passed a series of punishing laws which the American colonists called the Intolerable Acts.
