The gameplay is similar that of Shoot the Bullet and Double Spoiler, however, Violet Detector has Sumireko Usami as a playable character instead of Aya Shameimaru. Sumireko becomes trapped in a nightmare in which everyone in Gensokyo is out to get her. She decides to take pictures of their danmaku to post onto social media. These nightmares continue for three weeks.

As an official spinoff of bullet-hell shooter series Touhou, Violet Detector. is quite difficult, but both its story and mechanics deserve praise for their design. New PC Game Releases by Date.
Violet Detector is far too easy. I managed to detect the colour violet almost as soon as I opened the game (hint: it’s Sumireko’s whole outfit), thus rendering the rest of the game completely pointless. Please make the game harder next time. Got motivated by Violet Detector to make a few things I’ve wanted to make for a while.
